Kentucky +6.5 at plus money is the best price on the board, and I don't pass up plus-money on a ranked 5-1 team getting nearly a touchdown. Oklahoma earned a bump for upsetting Texas, but the market may be paying a premium for one big win. Not a lock, just a number I like.

The Sharp Desk: Week 7 picks
Texas -10.5 at +108 implies about 48 percent, and a plus price on a ranked home favorite against a 4-2 Florida team that just dropped out of the poll is where I see a small edge. My rough estimate is 50 to 51 percent, a gap of two to three points. The narrative about Texas losing to Oklahoma is one game, and I do not reprice a team on a sample of one.
I keep coming back to the rankings: No. 16 Mississippi State at 4-1 is getting 11.5 points from No. 22 LSU, a 4-2 team coming off an overtime loss to Kentucky. The week in Baton Rouge has been about the head coach's comments on the officials rather than the film, and that is not where you want the focus heading into a ranked conference game. I am not saying the Bulldogs win outright, but two touchdowns minus a hook is a lot of cushion in a game this close on paper.
The Quant is laying double digits with a Texas team that just got pushed around by Oklahoma, and the Gators come in unranked with their coach's postgame comments drawing heat. That is exactly the kind of ugly, unloved underdog I want, especially when the headline everyone remembers is Texas, not the number. Ten and a half is a lot of points to hand a 4-2 SEC team that the crowd has already written off.
This week's lines
Full boardEvery SEC game priced across the sportsbooks and the prediction markets.
A two-loss top-10 LSU visits a 5-1 Kentucky team with the better record, and the noon kickoff will test which résumé holds up.
A ranked Florida team with slipping outside standing hosts a .500 South Carolina side looking to turn its season in a noon SEC Network window.
A 3-3 Texas A&M team carrying offseason-style noise visits a 5-1 Missouri side that has climbed into the national rankings.
Unbeaten Georgia visited Alabama with a claim to No. 1 at stake, and this week's reports describe a Bulldogs win and a heated afternoon at Bryant-Denny.
A ranked Tennessee team carrying one loss visits a 2-4 Arkansas side that needs a signature result to reset its October.
A top-10 Ole Miss team at 4-1 visits a .500 Vanderbilt side, yet the market makes the Commodores the favorite under the lights at FirstBank Stadium.

Where SEC fans can play
Six SEC states have no statewide sportsbook app. Prediction markets are the legal option in most of them. State by state, here is what is open.
Texas has no legal online or retail sportsbook; the 2025 legislative session ended without passing one, and the Legislature does not meet again until 2027.
Georgia has no legal sports betting of any kind; a 2026 legalization push failed again at the Capitol.
Alabama has no legal sportsbook, online or retail, and no lottery; a comprehensive gaming bill died in the Senate in 2024 and has not come back.
Mississippi allows sports betting only inside its casinos; mobile apps work only while you are on casino property, and statewide mobile bills have failed every year since 2024.
South Carolina has no legal sports betting; bills have been introduced each session and none has passed either chamber.
Oklahoma has no legal sports wagering; a tribal-compact deal is the only path and the state and tribes have not agreed on one.
